WhatsApp is rolling out the possibility to view animated stickers in Beta version

WhatsApp has included packs or downloadable third-party packs from the Play Store, you got still image stickers. WhatsApp has only supported static sticker images so far. Now, in WhatsApp beta, the app is introducing animated sticker support. Before the time Telegram & Gboard application support animated stickers.

On June 22, the feature first shown in beta v2.20.194.7 and then disappeared the same day in v2.20.194.9. It’s live now in v2.20.195.2 beta and seems to be here to stay. Just click on the emoji button in the text box, select the sticker panel at the bottom, then tap the plus button to add new stickers. You’ll find the first animated pack, Playful Piyomaru, among the regular non-animated packs you can download. If you expand it, you can see all included stickers and preview them by tapping any of them.

Previous updates might get the feature as well (for example the 2.20.61 iOS update from the App Store), but WhatsApp is always used to enable features in recent updates (that might contain bug fixes and improvements for the feature), so you should install the updates.” – WABetaInfo said.

The possibility to view animated stickers. When you’re able to view animated stickers, you can save and send all received animated stickers. The possibility to import animated stickers from third parties. Third parties can offer their own animated stickers packs. A lot of animated stickers creators were working in these months to provide animated stickers to be imported into WhatsApp. The possibility to download default animated sticker packs from the WhatsApp Store, currently implemented in the app.” – WABetaInfo also said in a post.

In these months WhatsApp was working to implement a lot of new features. The most recent one is a search by date feature for iOS and new tools for Storage Usage for Android.
